Nominations for 2001 MASA Officers
Our current leadership is retiring at the end of
this year, so we have three elected club positions to fill!
At the MASA meeting on Tuesday, November 7, initial nominations
were taken for the positions of President, Vice President, and
Secretary / Treasurer. Nominations will continue to be
accepted through December 1. You may nominate
yourself. You may ask another to nominate you. You may
nominate, well, pretty much any other MASA member at your
discretion. Additional nominations are definitely
solicited! We are looking for capable and dedicated people who
would like to step forward and serve their club. In
particular, we need someone willing to fill the vital role of
Secretary/Treasurer.
Nominations may be sent to Russ Durkee
If you have been nominated for a position, you may accept or
decline the nomination by letting Russ know.
This link will lead you to descriptions
of the duties of the MASA officers. If you're interested
in being a candidate, but have additional questions, please feel
free to contact any of the current MASA
officers.
UPDATE: On December 2, all nominations that were neither
accepted or declined were stricken from the list.

Nominees for Vice President

Nominees for Secretary/Treasurer

The Candidates and the Election
On December 2, those who have accepted nominations will become
candidates. The candidates' names and any information
that they choose to provide will be presented on the web site and in
the MASA Planet newsletter.
At the January meeting, the official vote will be tallied.
If you are able to be present at the meeting, you will vote at that
time. For those MASA members who will be unable to attend the
meeting, but who wish to vote, we will set up a sort of absentee
ballot system. The details of the absentee ballot will be
announced by mid December.
One vote per position will be accepted from each unique MASA
member number. For example, if you hold an individual MASA
membership, you get one vote. If your family holds a family
membership, you get one vote to represent your entire family.
Confused? If you look at the back of your MASA name badge,
you'll see a member number. If you have an individual
membership, your number is unique. In a family membership, all
family members have the same member number. So, each unique
MASA member number gets to vote once.
