Or, where can I buy rocket
stuff in Minnesota?
You can find small selections of model rocket
merchandise at mass market retailers, department stores, and toy
stores. Some examples are Walmart and Toys R Us. Also,
chain stores such as Air Traffic, Michaels (some of
them) and Snyder
Drug sometimes have a small selection of Estes merchandise.
However, MRN encourages you to patronize
locally-owned, Minnesota hobby stores. They can provide you
with personalized service and better selections of rocket
stuff. Local hobby stores - use 'em or lose 'em!

"The plus for them is that they have had
some fairly old OOP kits, and still have a couple of relatively
uncommon kits. Prices are nothing special to high."-tc

Rocket merchandise: very little
Comments: "Since the Hobby Zone in Eagan Closed
about a year or so ago, it's been
tough on this corner of town to get hobby supplies. Needing to
get some fiberglass cloth other than the heavy stuff I can get
at the big box stores, I decided to trundle over to Sky
Warehouse, and see what they had in stock.
In Richfield, Chicago Avenue is not a major street. And the
little strip mall that Sky occupies is rather sleepy corner. One
of the stores there used to be the original Eric's Bike shop but
is now an Asian Grocery, judging by the Bollywood movie posters
in the window. A literalist will have some trouble locating the
store because the name of the shop still reads Hobby Warehouse,
even though shop keeper answered the phone "Sky Hobbies".
Perhaps it's a Prince-like "The Shop Formally Known as "Hobby
Warehouse" affectation.
The store itself is a well stocked R/C Shop, focusing on
airplanes, but also cars and boats. I was looking for building
supplies and found plenty of adhesives, balsa, glass, wire and
brass tubing. Of the materials mentioned, the prices seemed
reasonable enough.
Conclusion, if you are a rocketeer who needs a brass launch lug
or some epoxy, and you lack the fuel to go the extra 4 miles to
the Richfield Hub Hobby on Penn, Hobby Warehouse, er, I mean,
Sky Hobbies will fill the need. "-sm
