News - 40th Anniversary Alphas to Visit Minnesota
May 19, 2001
Many of you have heard of the Alpha 40 project, in which a pair
of Estes Alpha rockets is touring the United States being launched
once in every state, in celebration of the 40th Anniversary of the
Alpha--Estes most classic, most popular, most familiar rocket. The
rockets are about halfway through their journey-- See http://www.users.qwest.net/~woody8/
for more details.
The good news is, the Alphas are on their way to Minnesota! They
should arrive here early next week, and, weather permitting, they'll
be launched at the MASA
launch in Blaine on Saturday [May 26]. (If the weather interferes
with the MASA launch, they'll be launched at the Westwood Elementary
school outreach launch May 31 or June 1). I doubt we'll have much of
a problem with turnout, given that this is the first launch at the
sod farm this summer, but here's another great reason to join us!
Come on out for the launch, read and sign the logbook, take some
pictures, and add some memories of your own.
